Túria Natural Park: the river linking Riba-roja, L’Eliana and Vilamarxant

Declared in 2007, the Túria Natural Park protects the river between Pedralba and Quart de Poblet. Trails, riverside woodland and the best escape right next to Valencia.

The Túria Natural Park was declared in 2007 to protect the middle and lower course of the river, from Pedralba to Quart de Poblet. A large part runs through Camp de Túria towns such as Vilamarxant, Riba-roja de Túria, La Pobla de Vallbona, L’Eliana and San Antonio de Benagéber.

What you’ll find

  • Riverside woodland: poplars, willows, reed beds and wildlife closely tied to the water.
  • Cliffs and gorges along the deeper sections of the river.
  • Water heritage: weirs, irrigation channels and mills showing how the water has been used over centuries.

The river trail

A network of paths lets you explore the park on foot or by bike. It’s one of the most popular routes in the province for running, family walks or cycling without big climbs.

Riba-roja and its castle

In Riba-roja de Túria the castle, of Moorish origin, overlooks the river and hosts cultural events — a good starting point to combine heritage and nature.

Recommendations

  • Don’t swim in unauthorised areas: the river has currents and dangerous pools.
  • Respect the riverside vegetation and don’t leave litter.
  • Check the Generalitat’s Natural Parks website for activities and information centres.
